Stemming from their collaboration in developing a traffic control plan for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix in 2011, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) and City of Baltimore have requested the assistance of the ATTAP team in generating a similar plan for the Star Spangled Sailabration. The event, which will take place June 13-19, 2012 at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, is scheduled to be one the largest publically attended events in the city’s rich history. The weeklong bicentennial celebration of the war of 1812 will feature tall ships, naval vessels, a Blue Angels airshow, concerts and fireworks.

To accommodate the expected increase in traffic volume, required road closures and limited parking, ATTAP members will work with the City of Baltimore and SHA officials to evaluate their  a traffic control plan. The plan  includes detours, bus/shuttle services and changes to traffic signal timing to safely and efficiently move both vehicles and pedestrians through the affected areas surrounding the Inner Harbor. More information on the Star Spangled Sailabration may be found at: http://www.starspangled200.com
