Fulbright Scholar Dr. Aurangzeb Khan is visiting our department this year from the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Pakistan. ?Two years ago I launched Pakistans first masters program in project management,? Khan said.

Next semester Khan will teach Project Stakeholder & Communications Management (ENCE688Z), which aims to spread awareness of the impact stakeholders have on projects. ?I look at ways where everyone can be beneffited.?

?The first thing I noticed was that it is huge,? Khan said of his first impression of UMCP. ?I like the classical architecture, it looks a lot like what I?ve seen in movies.?

He became a Fulbright Scholar by writing a research proposal and a syllabus for the class he wanted to teach. He is one of 14 Fulbrights from Pakistan, selected out of 98 applicants. He said, ?If you have faith in yourself, the battle is half won.?

As a Fulbright Scholar, he says one of his duties is to ?build bridges of understanding between Pakistan and the United States.?

Besides building bridges and planning his class, he is also working on a book. ?I?m writing a book on stakeholder management. I have written 50 pages so far and plan on writing 400 to 450,? Khan says.
