The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is moving full-throttle into the final phase of preparations for the CEE Centennial Celebrations in April 2008. This effort was given a significant boost recently by the generous sponsorship provided by Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. As a show of support for the CEE Department, Whiting-Turner donated $25,000 by sponsoring a "Platinum" table at the Centennial Gala on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company blends traditional values with innovative technology to provide construction management, general contracting, design/build services, and specialty contracting on projects small and large. With headquarters in Baltimore and 26 regional offices nationwide, including local offices in Bethesda and Chantilly, Whiting-Turner is currently the fourth largest domestic general building contractor in the United States, as ranked by Engineering News Record.

Since 1909, the firm has been guided by the principles of integrity, excellence and an unwavering dedication to customer delight. Whiting-Turner markets include higher education, K-12 education, office and headquarters, healthcare, senior living, life sciences, microelectronics, retail, industrial, warehouse and distribution, transportation, multi-family residential, mixed-use, urban redevelopment, hospitality, entertainment, cultural, religious and public sector.
