Dr. Mathew Witczak, a professor emeritus of the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has been selected as the 2008 Dean Lecturer. He was nominated by the Design and Construction Group.

The Thomas B. Dean Distinguished Lectureship of the National Research Council Transportation Research Board is a distinction that honors the career contributions and achievements of an individual in one or more of the areas covered by TRB's Technical Activities Division. By inviting Dr. Witczak to present this lecture in January 2008 at the annual TRB meetings, the Transportation Research Board is recognizing his deep and sustained impact on the science and engineering of pavements.
