Dr. Aydilek receives the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) Award for his research contributions to the area of flow through porous geomedia and image-based characterization of geosynthetics. The IGS Award is the highest level of geosynthetics research award, and is given biannually to recognize outstanding research contributions to geosynthetics engineering during the four years prior to the award. Previous recipients of this award include faculty members from the University of Texas-Austin, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, University of Tokyo, and Queen?s University, Canada.
