Dr. Goulias

Prof. Dimitrios Goulias has been awarded a two year research grant from the Department of Energy CBRC program in partnership with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association. The objective of the research is to develop a novel science-based approach using maturity modeling of high volume fly ash concrete through activation energy determination, so as to address the slower rate of hydration, delayed setting times, and strength gain of HVFA concrete with class C and F fly ash. The research includes extensive field and laboratory testing with instrumentation for measuring and modeling maturity and strength gain, as well as destructive and non destructive testing (NDT).
