Pennsylvania high school student Rachel Rotteveel recently wrote a column for the Bucks County Courier Times about her experience at an Explore Engineering at the University of Maryland (E2@UMD) summer program at the Clark School.
Her column, "Why engineering looks like an awesome career," is available online at PhillyBurbs.com. In it, she talks about getting to see facilities like the Clark School's virtual reality lab and neutral buoyancy tank, as well as participating in engineering challenges, throughout the week-long program.
"Most people do not realize engineers are some of the most creative, innovative and hard-working people in America — and some have the coolest jobs ever," she wrote.
Rotteveel is a student at Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, Penn. E2@UMD is a program administered by the Clark School's Women in Engineering Program.
