NAVFAC will be in the Leidos Lab (space 1106, near the main entrance) to discuss the DoD Smart Scholarship with sophomores & juniors in fire protection, electrical, and mechanical engineering students.
The SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program is a combined educational and workforce development opportunity for STEM students. SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students pursuing a STEM degree. All scholarship recipients receive full tuition, annual stipends, internships, and guaranteed civilian employment with the Department of Defense after graduation. Applications are open annually from August 1 to the first Friday in December.
The SMART Scholarship is for students currently enrolled at a college or university or with previous college credit. Applicants should already possess a college transcript from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university or will have a college transcript by the end of the fall term. The SMART Scholarship is also open to those pursuing or who will be pursuing a graduate degree at a regionally accredited U.S. institution.
US Citizenship is required.
